"Tragedy tomorrow, comedy tonight!" Featuring zany characters,
award-winning Sondheim music and a hysterical story, A Funny Thing
Happened On The Way To The Forum provides APA with a classic kick-off
to the 2006-07 season. Light, fast-paced, witty, irreverent and one of
the funniest musicals ever written, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way
To The Forum takes comedy back to its roots, combining situations from
time-tested, 2000 year old comedies of Roman playwright Plautus with
the infectious energy of classic vaudeville. Written by Larry Gelbart
(of "MASH" and "City Of Angels" fame) and Burt Shevelove, with music by
Stephen Sondheim, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum will
be directed and musically directed by Tim Nelson, choreographed by
Diane Makas-Weber and with orchestra directed by Gregg Gilboe.

Cleveland on the operatic map. But the great Il Stupendo misses his
