The 2010 JRAY Awards
On Sunday, May 30th the John Raitt Awards for Youth sponsored by the Fullerton Civic Light Opera Company were announced in a special Awards Ceremony involving High School Musical Theater Departments from LA (Including LA school of the arts) Orange (including OCHSA, Fullerton Academy for the Arts, SOCSA), Riverside & San Diego Counties.
The Academy for The Performing Arts at Huntington Beach High School took home an unprecedented amount of nominations and awards for their spring production of “Singing In The Rain.†Most notably the #1 Award at the ceremony – “Best Musical†as well as “Best Choreographyâ€; “Best Student Driven Set Designâ€; and "Best Male In A Cameo Role" – Cody Allen. Along with these prestigious awards, APA was also honored with the following nominations:
