A Dinner Show benefiting the HBAPA Theatre Department
In 2013, APA produced its first-ever Summer Dinner Theatre production, Black Comedy, by Peter Shaffer. Ten years later this hilarious farce is back and better than ever. Black Comedy depicts a sculptor and his fiancee, who have “borrowed” expensive furniture from the next-door neighbor’s flat to impress an art collector. Suddenly the power goes out, the neighbor returns early, unexpected guests arrive with mistaken identities, and matters spiral into hysterical chaos.

Based upon the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett, The Secret Garden tells the Victorian-era story of Mary, a child recently orphaned and sent to live with her distant and moody Uncle Archibald in an isolated English manor. After her Aunt Lily’s death, Mary discovers her secret garden, locked and neglected. By joyfully bringing the garden back to life, Mary also restores hope and happiness to her uncle and his son. Never before has the Secret Garden been so fully and imaginatively realized as in this incarnation by Lucy Simon and Marsha Norman. This award-winning, heart-warming musical is suitable for people of all ages and it is ultimately a tale about love and faith triumphing over all obstacles.

A musical benefiting the APA Musical Theatre Department, produced by the APA Musical Theatre Guild
A Chorus Line is a 1975 musical with music by Marvin Hamlisch, lyrics by Edward Kleban, and a book by James Kirkwood Jr. and Nicholas Dante.
A Chorus Line stunningly captures a glimpse into the lives of performers auditioning for a Broadway musical. This brilliantly complex fusion of dance, song, and authentic drama tells of the bittersweet ambitions of professional, itinerant performers trying to land a job in the show, and it is a powerful metaphor for all human aspiration.
