Dark Of The Moon

Apr 22-25

A stunning Broadway and London hit, Dark of the Moon is a powerful fantasy set long ago in the Smoky Mountains. As dazzling and spectacular as it is intimate and intense, this epic supernatural love story has elements of Twilight, Romeo and Juliet and Wicked. Based on the haunting folk ballad of Barbara Allen, John, a witch boy, falls in love with the beautiful Barbara. He begs the conjurers to use their powers to make him human so he can marry her. As the townspeople grow suspicious of the outsider, the witches want him back and all conspire against the young lovers as the play moves to its tragic conclusion. Along with the drama there is comedy, music, singing, dance as well as special effects. This production promises to be unlike any other as Dark of the Moon returns to our Historic Theater for its 30th Anniversary production.
