Leading Ladies
It’s the fifties and the Leading Ladies are nothing like you can imagine. Two down on their luck British actors, Leo and Jack, are playing scenes from Shakespeare at unlikely places like Moose Lodges in Pennsylvania. They read in the newspaper that an elderly woman is searching for her two long lost heirs in England so she can leave them millions. They decide to pretend to be the heirs only to find out that they are women! In a page out of Some Like It Hot, Stephanie and Maxine arrive to meet their “auntie”. Complications build as Leo falls for Meg and Jack falls for the roller skating Tastee Bite waitress Audrey (both of whom are spoken for), sending all on a collision course of hilarity. There is a reason why Ken Ludwig is APA's most produced author (Lend Me A Tenor, Crazy for You, Moon Over Buffalo), his plays are laugh filled riots that leave the audience thoroughly entertained.
